THE Council of Majorca has created a web page, entitled Oficina del Mar (the Sea Office) which will be managed by a workshop specialising in the restoration of traditional seagoing craft. The project aims to offer training in specialised craftsmanship and to provide a platform for those who are already professional in the sector, to use their skills. A Nautical Employment watchdog will also raise awareness of this opportunity in schools around the island. The web page: (www.conselldemallorca.com/mediambient/oflamar) offers information on available employment; companies operating in the nautical sector; traditional vessel restoration courses; available grants; regattas in which the Council of Majorca participates; and on all activity by the Oficina del Mar.
