THIS weekend there will be traffic problems when driving through the centre of Palma, due to work taking place on the main roads in order to lower the pavements and to also remove concrete slabs. Work started yesterday and will finish sometime in the morning today, said a spokesperson from the Mobility Department in the Palma city council.
In total this work will affect the calle Union, from the Teatro Principal up to the Gran Hotel, at Plaza del Mercat, right lane of the Borne from Sant Feliu up to Plaza de la Reina and from Plaza del Mercat until calle Can Serinya. Although there is going to be traffic delays and problems this weekend in Palma city centre, the Mobilility Department said that they are not going to stop traffic on these roads, as the tasks will be carried out lane by lane, allowing the parellel lane to be used by vehicles. In addition, today vehicles will not be able to drive from calle Union towards la Rambla and vice versa from 8am until 8pm, only on the lane opposite the theatre.
