A VERY original and fun way to get married was thought up by Silvia Pica and Luis Alberto Dominguez, who tied the knot at the Soller train station yesterday, the first wedding to be held here. Silvia, a waitress in Palma, and Luis, a shop owner, invited around 70 guests to their unusual wedding, travelling on their love train. Early yesterday the groom and the guests met at Plaza de España in Palma and took the old Soller train through the beautiful countryside. The bride, looking radiant in a stunning wedding dress with train, made her journey to the Soller train station by car. She met Luis at the train station, amongst the works of art by Miró and Picasso, where the short but heartfelt ceremony was conducted by councillor Magdalena Palou. After saying I do, they signed the register and were greeted by a rain of rice and rose petals as they seañed their marriage with a kiss. A few minutes later the round of wedding photographs started, and once finished the newlyweds and their guests got back on the train for the trip back to Palma, where the reception was held.
Memorable and original love train wedding
