WINE and grapes were once again the order of the day in Binissalem on Sunday, celebrations which brought to a close the annual El Vermar wine festival. As is the tradition, activities got underway at 10am with the arrival of local dignitaries and special guests who were received by the local mayor Miquel Nadal. Visitors yesterday included the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party chairman in the Balearics, Francesc Antich. As well as streets filled with arts and crafts, the grape competition gave prizes to the heaviest bunches grown in Binissalem's wine producing area.
