PALMA/MARRATXI
MICHAEL Jackson fever is gripping Majorca with the This Is It movie being released next month.
The movie, which is made up of footage of concert rehearsals for his planned performances at the O2 Arena in London, is set to be released to the general public in Europe on October 28.
It has already been confirmed that the Ocimax cinema in Palma and the cinema at Festival Park in Marratxi will be screening the film.
The film was able to be made when the Jackson estate, along with the promoters of the concerts AEG Live, negotiated a $60 million deal for the films production with Sony Pictures.
Based on earnings from the film, as well as business deals and the increase in sales of albums and other merchandise since his death, administrators of the estate expect to generate more than $200 million in revenue by the end of this year.
