There was something for everyone in the jobless figures for the Balearics yesterday. The number of people seeking unemployment benefit rose by 2,898 people in September compared to August meaning that there are now 72,000 people without a job in the islands. But compared to September last year there are 5,279 fewer people seeking the jobseekers allowance. The Balearic government was quick to underline these figures yesterday saying that they were winning the battle against unemployment with more people in work now than a year ago.
