Palma.—The Balearic Hoteliers Federation said yesterday that even fewer hotels would be open this winter, almost signalling the end of winter tourism on the island.

The Federation said that only a handful of hotels would remain open during the so-called low season. President Aurelio Vezques slammed the central administration in Madrid for showing no interest in trying to attract more tourists to the island during the winter.
