WORK to remodel the Can Tarres green area in Es Molinar (Palma) will begin in December and will last for five months.
This has been confirmed by the deputy mayor of the Infrastructures department, Marina Sans.
The budget for the work is 297'683 euros.
The designer of the project is the town council's agricultural technical engineer Bartomeu Gaya. Sans highlighted that this project is part of the council's aim to create green areas or improve the existing ones in various districts. One of the most prominent features of the remodelling of this park is the creation of a children's play area, which will be totally enclosed and will comply with all the European safety laws. It is also planned to refurbish the building situated in the middle of the green area, which could then be used by sporting and social associations in the district. The project includes the construction of three Petanca courts and one for other sports. The city council will also install new lights outside, as well as picnic areas with tables and benches, plants, walking areas and grassy areas, amongst other facilities. Sans said that all the existing trees would stay where they are. The deputy mayor for Infrastructures said that the council also intended to start work at the end of this year on a new green area in Son Dameto.
