SOLLER council has presented three draft projects for 2007 to the Council of Majorca in application for subsidies which are granted by the Council each year from the Plan for Works and Services budget. According to municipal sources the draft projects, in order of priority, are: the surfacing and refurbishment of various streets in Soller, which has a budget of 595'000 euros; the refurbishing of infrastructures in the Calle Bunyola, with a budget of 389'000 euros; and putting public lighting in various streets in Soller, with a budget of 65'600 euros. At the same time as Soller council is refurbishing the infrastructures in the Calle Bunyola, AQUALIA (the municipal company for water and drainage) will take advantage of these works to renew its pipes in this area. The Calle Bunyola is situated in one of the oldest areas of the town and has never had any improvement work done on it since its construction last century. The proposed project will renovate the water and drainage network, the pavements, the road surface and the public lighting. The deadline for presenting applications for grants from the Council of Majorca expired on Wednesday. The Council of Majorca now has to decided which grants to approve. It is worth pointing out that in 2005 Soller council presented three projects for subsidy from the Council of Majorca and was only granted financing for one.
