TWO YEARS ON AND BRITISH FAMILY STILL LONG FOR NEWS OF MISSING HIKER

MONIQUE Tennant returns to Majorca tomorrow as she continues in her quest to find out what happened to her sister Jacqueline on October, 9, 2007 - the day on which she went missing while on a hiking trip in Majorca.

This summer, Jacqueline's former colleagues of RAF Reserves 600 Squadron based at Northolt were on standby to come to Majorca and help Monique mount yet another search for her missing sister, but there had been no new information from the Inca court handling the case nor the police. “There were just no new leads to follow up. I no longer know where to look in Majorca and this is why I'm flying out again. I want to speak to the judge and the police and find out what's new,” she told the Bulletin yesterday.

As an RAF reservist Jacqueline, who had been hoping to be posted to Afghanistan, had spent the summer of 2007 working as a resort representative and sports coach in Can Picafort. She was a highly trained and experienced hiker and used all of her days off to explore a different part of the island.

On October 9, 2007, she received a midday call on her mobile from the Can Picafort resort manager.
All that Jacqueline told him was that she was “nearing the top and the view over the bay was spectacular.”
