MAGALLUF
WORK on a major building project in the heart of Majorca's busiest tourist resort has mysteriously ground to a halt.
The bulldozers moved off the site in Magalluf, near the resort's House Of Katmandu tourist attraction, at the start of summer. But despite leaving a 20 foot deep hole in the ground measuring the size of two football pitches, workers have failed to return to continue work on the project.

Plans for the site, in Calle Pedro Vacquer Ramis, included a multi-million euro shopping mall and executive apartments.
Local businesses are opposing the plan for the shopping mall and they have lobbied local Calvia Council to protest against the scheme. However, developers vowed to go ahead with the work when it began in the Spring.
