Airline price war damaging the islands

The price increase in cheap flights between the Balearics and the mainland have been blamed on the previous government and Spanair.

Palma.—The Balearic development minister  reported yesterday that between 2007 and 2011, the government made available around 27 million euros so that airlines would not have to increase their fares. But when the current PP government  took over the deficit and the serious economic situation Spain was going through, they had no option but to cut that funding.
