Palma.—The strike  planned for 20 October by the Balearic Symphony Orchestra has been put on hold, the band’s committee announced yesterday, stating the “advances made in the negotiations” with the government as the main reason.
The musicians’ on going feud with the three entities that oversee the band, the  government, Palma City Council and the Council of Majorca, led the  orchestra  to threaten  yet another general strike, but progress seems to have been made in recent negotiations between the parties.
