THE nautical sector will be debating the future of the industry and the common current problems, such as the lack of morring spaces and the taxation issues, at the CAEB (Balearic Business Federation) conference hall tomorrow. The hall will become the centre the Balearic, Spanish and European nautical industry, when leading figures talk about current problems and solutions, as well as future strategies. There will be three main focuses to the day: the current legal environment in the Spanish and Balearic industry; strategies for winter tourism and improving tourism quality; and the contribution of the yachting companies to environmental and sustainability matters. The title for the conference is The new challenges for the tourist-sporting nautical industry in the 21st century, which has been sponsored by the Ministry for Tourism and the Institute for Quality Tourism (IQT). The President of the European Federation for Marinas, Francisco Javier Mangrané, will be in charge of opening the event.
The biggest problems that threaten the nautical industry in these times are the lack of mooring spaces and the taxation issues, he commented.
The most pressing matters which are affecting the yachting industry will be debated tomorrow by the President of the European Federation for Marinas, Francisco Javier Mangrané, the Director of Co-ordination and External Relations at State Ports, Julian Maganto, the Director General for Balearic Marinas, Fernando Garrido, the President of the National Association for Marinas, Narcis Coll and Cristina Sastre, representing the National Federation for Nautical Charters.
