Driver crashes after falling asleep

alma.—A 65-year-old German woman escaped unhurt from an accident yesterday after falling asleep  at the wheel as she drove along the S’Aranjassa road at the back of the Playa de Palma.
The incident happened at 5.30pm when the woman, who suffers from narcolepsy  which causes sudden lapses of sleep, fell asleep. At first she veered across the road and drove along the wrong side of the road for a while before eventually flipping off  the side of the road, which has no crash barriers,  and into the dry riverbed.
