SA Pobla council has given its Moroccan shopkeepers two months to comply with the municipal rules, regulations and opening hours and meet the health and safety requirements. Councillor for Police, Margalida Serra, said yesterday that they do not want Moroccan traders to close their businesses we merely want them to comply with the rules and regulations like everyone else in the municipality. All the local Moroccan traders have been informed that they have to apply for trading licences and all have been advised of what the local opening hours are. Margalida Serra said that they are also being informed of the health and safety regulations, such as foodstuffs and household goods having to be separated and that supermarket meat counter and butcher employees need to have a municipal licence to handle food. In the meantime, The Local Police are checking on opening times.
