3 cars burned to a cinder in Son Fuster

PALMA THREE cars were engulfed in flames in the early hours of yesterday morning inside a building on the Son Fuster industrial estate in Palma. Firemen rushed to the scene after having been alerted by Local Police on patrol to a huge column of smoke originating on the estate. Officers successfully extinguished the blaze after an hour and were able to stop the fire spreading to other parts of the building. National Police began investigations to try and ascertain the cause of the fire which was started on a site belonging to a company which engages in recycling of old cars. Other car fires have occurred in the area but out on the street; this was the first time that a fire had started actually inside a building. Police are not discounting arson.
