Palma—Big spending British tourists helped the Summer season end on a real high last month in Spain which should help the economic recovery.
British tourists spent almost 10,000 million euros in Spain in September, almost 20 percent of the total holiday spend. In the Balearics tourists spent an estimated 1,643 million euros in September with British and German tourists taking the lion´s share of the figure.
The figures underline the fact that despite the growth in all inclusive holidays British tourists are still spending in the resorts. Tourist spending in the Balearics rose by almost 7.5 percent in September, according to official figures.
