POLLENSA is preparing for one of its biggest events of the year, the craft fair which will be held from November 11 to 14.
This year, there will be several changes and novelties. For a start, the Fair will have its own logo and the interior of the Cloister and the surrounding area will be specially decorated, Isabel Cerdà, the councillor in charge of fairs, revealed yesterday. She added that a local firm of young designers had been commissioned to produce the logo and the decoration. The Plaza Mayor will be the centre for food products. There will be two marquees, one from Semilla, a government-owned firm, and another from the Council of Majorca, both of which will be opposite the Club Pollença. Traders will have a giant marquee in the Plaza de Cales Munnares, which they will share with town council bodies, civil defence, the animal refuge and similar organisations. As in previous years, the Plaza del Seglars has been reserved for young artists and music.
Finally, the local riding club will organise a horse show in Cecilio Metelo, opposite the Pou dels Tiradors.
