THE fund-raisers Amigas para Siempre, headed by Christine Brown and Lynn Whiteley from Oldham in Lancashire, have this year raised more than 9'000 euros for local charities. For the last 12 years, the Amigas have been responsible for bringing a large group of people from all over Britain to meet in Magalluf, at their own expense, to raise funds for the homes for abused and disadvantaged children in Palma. This year, the theme was Football Mania, with everyone dressed for the occasion. A parade was held through Magalluf and collecting buckets were used to bring in the cash from the generous public bystanders. A Grand Auction was held at The Boatyard Restaurant on Magalluf beach and all items were sold without reserve. They included signed Mallorca football shirts, and lots more memorabilia. Pastor Allen J Graham, along with Rosemary Stone, Christine and Lynn carry on this fund raising effort and if you would like ot help, especially on the run up to Christmas, Rosemary can be contacted on 610662086.
