PALMA
A MAJOR new drama set in Majorca spotlighting life in a prestigious yachting marina could soon be on UK television screens.
The programme, provisionally entitled Skippers, is penned by the writers behind hit BBC show New Tricks.
It is produced by Acrobat Productions the Manchester-based programme maker which has a base in Costa de la Calma, near Santa Ponsa.
The show will feature the lives and loves of characters based around a marina on the island's south coast.
The concept is similar to 1980s show Howard's Way - one of BBC TV's biggest-ever television successes, starring Jan Harvey, Maurice Colborne and Glyn Owen. The series dealt with the personal and professional lives of the yachting and business communities in the fictional town of Tarrant on the South Coast of England
