By Frank Leavers As organisers countdown the days to the traditional Bonfire Night Fiesta on Friday 5th November (5 days away!) Mallorca Cricket Club have announced the entertainment line-up for the big day. Popular broadcaster Laura Penn, aided and abetted by her side-kick “Freddie the Frog” and Calvia Council's Angela Guerrero will act as joint master of ceremonies and keep the family fun going all night long from the big stage.

FIREWORK FUN & GAMES.
Mallorca Cricket Club want to encourage as many people as possible to arrive early at the club ground in Magalluf. This call to encourage families to arrive early worked two years ago and it helped enormously in “spreading out” the thousands of people who have in the past arrived all together at 7.00pm, causing long queues at the entrance and bunching at the bars and food outlets.

As families arrive. Laura Penn and her team will be off with a bang, introducing children's entertainer Silly Sam to the crowds and getting the kids together for some fun and games.

At 7.15pm “Wired” featuring Nicky Stixx & Victor Prada will be onstage to entertain the crowd in their own special way.
As Laura counts the seconds down to the spectacular firework display at 8.00pm Terry Mott will coordinate the display with some stirring music, which was first used two years ago with sensational results.

Immediately after the fireworks dim in the sky “The Ta La's” (Arron Reece & Tony Paris) will be on stage to help the crowd “party on” as there is no school for the kids the next day and parents can look forward to a lie in. To round the evening off, Terry Mott (El Tel) from 9.00pm onwards will be playing some party music until it's time to go home; hopefully tired but happy!

A TEAM EFFORT.
To put such a large community event together, the Mallorca Cricket Club are grateful to Calvia Council and the members of staff in a number of directorates for their help and continuing support. Special thanks to Clr Kate Mentink and her dedicated team in the Foreign Citizens department for being such positive partners in mounting Bonfire Night every year.

As you would expect, all the local emergency and support services will be in attendance to make Bonfire Night both secure and safe. And a special thank you to Dr Miguel Chiaccio and Karen Storey from Juaneda Medical Services for maintaining a dedicated medical presence on-site during this unique family fiesta. Cricket Club Secretary Rob Hughes said.... “The planning for Bonfire Night is almost over, scores of club members and friends have been, and will continue to be very busy right up until the big day and beyond. Also I would like to particularly thank Lifstyle Catering, Mood Beach Club & Restaurant..........who will be working alongside this year's nominated charity Allen Graham's Charity4Kidz and the BenSMiles project. Where island based Ben Miles is cycling the length of Europe in aid of this popular local children's charity.” So everything is set for a great family night out. Please remember that this year there has been a slight ajustment to entrance prices. Adults/Teenagers 5 euros, Children 5 to 12 years 1 euro, Children under 5 free. If Bulletin readers have any wood or combustable material for the Bonfire(s) please contact Club Secretary Rob Hughes on 654882449 and he will arrange for proper entry into the Cricket Club ground. See you on Friday night!
