A CHEQUE for 2'500 euros was handed over by Marie Robinson to the local Alzheimer's association. It was accepted by its chairman Jaime Morell.
The money was raised at a recent dinner in Santa Ponsa organised on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day, to draw attention to the cause.
Sr Morell, accompanied by committee members, thanked Marie Robinson for her collaboration in Calvia.
Thanks were also extended to all those who donated prizes and made the cheque possible. They included artists and large and small businesses in the area. Sr Morell said that his association is looking forward to the opening of a day centre for Alzheimer's patients and sufferers of all types of dementia in Calvia in the near future.
