Palma.It is not the first time that the criminal lawyer - already found guilty of fraud and falsification with 10 cases brought against him by courts in Palma - has been in police custody.
A writ has also been issued against him by the Guardia Civil in Rozas.
On the run
A statement issued by the National Police said yesterday that José D.C. has been on the run from the law for months and has long since been banned from practicing as a lawyer.
Without having any valid address record for him, police had to go through a long process of elimination before being able to track him down.
A number of leads researched by investigators eventually confirmed that the wanted man was living in Lloseta on Majorca.
Courts in Palma and Inca were duly informed and yesterday a police unit was despatched with orders for his arrest. Officers entered the property in Lloseta and located José D.C. inside. He was taken into police custody and transferred to headquarters in Palma.
Sources close to the investigation said he was expected to appear before a magistrate late yesterday afternoon.
