THE Guardia Civil have arrested the owner of the land in Bunyola on which the body of a man burned to death was found on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, he withheld information from investigators right from the start.
A communique from the Ministry of the Interior, said that he would be charged initially with accessory to murder and an offence against workers's rights.
The Guardia Civil said yesterday that the body had been identified as that of Keber K., aged 34, from Mali.
Investigations into the cause of death are continuing and an autopsy was performed yesterday morning, although the results have not been made public.
The body was found at Son Vivot in Bunyola, about 100 metres from the road linking Bunyola and Santa Maria.
According to reports, it was found by the land owner, lying on a bonfire. There had been no signs of violence.
The Local Police of Bunyola were the first to arrive on the scene and they cordoned off the area until the Guardia Civil arrived.
CLUES
Guardia Civil and police officers searched the area looking for clues, and took various samples.
It is reported that a glass bottle was found near the body, but the label had been completely destroyed by fire, and it is not known what it contained. As reported in yesterday's Bulletin,, neighbours said that they had not seen any signs of a fire.
