Spain’s film industry runs the risk of loosing its reputation overseas after the Balearic Film Commission failed to settle its debts with Cloud Atlas producers.
Palma.—The 2012 German produced blockbuster starring Hollywood stars Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant and Halle Berry was partially shot in Majorca but producers are yet to receive the money they were promised by the Balearic Film Commission. The drama/ science fiction movie was the most expensive independently film to be made to date and the current payment situation forced the Council of Majorcato take matters into its own hands and keep up with payments in order to contain the damages and keep Majorca’s film industry reputation intact.
