PALMA
A moving ceremony to honour service people who have lost their lives during hostilities at sea was staged off the south coast of Majorca.
The crew of Royal Navy flagship HMS Ark Royal laid a wreath and paid their respects to former colleagues.
The Act of Remembrance commemorated not just those who served on board the third Ark Royal sunk off Majorca by a torpedo from a German U Boat in 1941, but also those still serving in conflicts around the world.
As the Royal Navy ship passed over the site where the wartime Ark Royal was sunk on 14 November 1941, the aircraft carrier's hectic routine came to a halt and the ship's company gathered on the flight deck to pay their respects.
