THE traditional bazaar for Nuevo Futuro will celebrate its 10th anniversary tomorrow, and will have a mixture of articles on sale, theatre performances and musical acts to raise money for the day centres for battered wives and socially excluded children, both in Palma. The bazaar will take place at the Trade Fair precinct in Palma from tomorrow until Sunday.
This fund-raising event was presented yesterday by the President of Nuevo Futuro in Palma, Carmen Fuster.
This year will count on the presence of Beatriz de Orleans as the Maid of Honour for proceedings, as well as personalities, such as Syliane de Vilallonga and the Real Mallorca football players, she added. The bazaar will consist of thirty stalls, where visitors can buy a great variety of things at good prices.
There will be stalls selling second hand clothes, books, Christmas presents, antiques and garden products.
The event will be open from midday until 9pm, but it will also remain open for the evenings' entertainment.
Tomorrow night the well-known Majorcan DJ Juan Campos will be playing 70s tunes at the Trade Fair precinct.
The Nuevo Futuro Bazaar will also be the scene for the theatre performance La mujer sola, which is based on a series of eight monologues by Dario Fo, interpreted by the Tres en Raya company. This performance will take place on Friday night. The singer Jaume Anglada will sing songs from his latest album on Friday night also, and on Saturday night the group Sidecar and Tolo Servera will perform. All money raised from the four bazaar days will go in full to the two day centres in Palma; one for battered wives and one for children at risk from social exclusion.
