THE Balearic Association of Mothers of the Disabled (AMADIBA) will hold the third Balearic Congress for Families of Disabled People in Palma today and tomorrow. It is a forum for this group which will try to make society aware of their needs and interests. Legal, medical and educational questions will be debated during this Congress, which will take place as afternoon sessions in the Hotel Melia Palas Atenea. These are the things which worry the 250 families from Majorca and Ibiza who are members of AMADIBA. To encourage the participation of families and to motivate them, reinforcing their relationships via and exchange of experiences are some of the objectives of the Congress. It is because of this that AMADIBA has organised these days of debate, encouraging participation via two practical workshops and three round tables about traditional therapies and another on alternative therapies. These debates will be attended by speakers on traditional medicine, Chinese medicine, Naturopathy, Orthopaedic medicine and Psychiatry. At the same time, another of the round tables will have brothers and sisters of disabled people speaking, who will recount their experiences. AMADIBA, which is celebrating its 10th anniversay this year, will offer those attending a series of incentives to encourage their participation, such as a free dinner.
