Palma.—The former Speaker of the Balearic Parliament and President of the Council of Majorca, Maria Antonia Munar, has been stripped by the local parliament of her Medal of Honour.
Munar is presently in Palma prison on corruption charges. The Balearic parliament had to actually change the law so that the medal could be withdrawn. The former leading politician received the medal in 2008 during the celebrations to mark the 25th anniversay of the local parliament.
