BARTOMEU Vicens, Member of the Balearic Parliament and ex-spokesman for the Majorcan Unionist party paid 100'000 euros bail to a regional high court yesterday in relation to charges against him in an alleged corruption scandal. It was also likely that he will be forfeiting eight million euros worth of personal wealth as extra security for his remaining at liberty.
Judicial sources reported yesterday that one of the lawyers acting on behalf of Vicens presented the High Court with evidence that the bail money had been paid at about 9am, thus securing a conditional discharge for his client.
