STARTING this Sunday, the Balearics' leading daily Catalan newspaper Diari de Balears, stable mate of the Bulletin, will be offering its readers the chance to start collecting 60 books written by leading Majorcan writers and ports. Each week, the newspaper will be giving away a title from the Biblioteca d'Autors Malloquins (the library of Majorcan writers). The newspaper's initiative has the full co-operation of the Island Council of Majorca and the Banca March. Each one of the writers, be they alive or dead, agreed for their works to be included in the collection which today features many of Majorca's best works of pros and poetry. The unique promotion was unveiled last night at a gala ceremony which was attended by the chairman of the Grup Serra publishing group responsible for Balears, Ultima Hora, the Majorca Daily Bulletin and Mallorca Magazin Pera A Serra, president of the Council of Majorca and Maria Antonia Munar.
