Ambulance on callout involved in city car smash

PALMA
AN ambulance rushing to the scene of an emergency with its siren blaring, collided with a car in Calle Manacor in Palma yesterday lunchtime resulting in five people being injured.

Driving along calle Manacor towards Palma's ringroad, the ambulance reached the crossroads with Calle Manuel Azaña and collided with a car coming from its left out of Calle Capita Vila. According to sources last night, it appears that the driver of the vehicle was unaware of the emergency vehicle heading their way with lights flashing and sirens wailing.

The ambulance was carrying a doctor, a nurse and medical technician all of whom suffered superficial injuries.
