Son Servera.The contract for the final two sections of the cycle lane linking Son Servera with Costa de los Pinos has been put out to public tender by the local council in the combined sum of 1 million euros.
On one hand, there is a contract for the completion of Section 3 which runs from Carrer de Davant s'Hort, Ciudad Laurel as far as Son Floriana. The extension of the cycle lane here is 350 metres long and the bid has been put at 300'000 euros without VAT. The land, which was not publicly owned, was purchased by the council.
Then there is Section 5 which runs between Port Verd and Costa de los Pinos. This stretch measures 750 metres and has been put out to public tender in the sum of 617'714'000 euros, also without VAT.
The lands were expropriated by the local council after an agreement was reached with the owners.
The start of the bid process has already been agreed by the local council and is now awaiting publication in the official Bulletin of the Balearic Islands (BOIB).
The town council has chosen to complete the works given that the tourist season is now at an end, meaning considerably less traffic.
