Palma.—There definitely appears to be a sea change in the way the local tourism authorities are dealing with Winter tourism, this year, it appears that they are seriously trying to tackle the problem.
Not only has it recently been announced that a number of hotels are going to be opening earlier than planned next season to meet demand from UK tour operators, in particular those specialising in cycling, hiking and bird watching packages, but yesterday that Majorcan Hotel Federation announced that hotels are going to be opening on weekends during the Winter to try and inject some life into the Winter season and also keep full time employees working.
