DO not be fooled into thinking the weather forecasters have got in wrong over the past two days. The cold front is going to bite in the Balearics today and is not going to ease until tomorrow night at the earliest. More snow is forecast top fall down to around 800 metres tonight and tomorrow in the north of Majorca while hail storms can be expected in the south of the island and in Minorca. Elsewhere isolated showers and occasional storms will be predominant for most of the weekend.
But, apart from the snow, hail and rain, the temperatures are going to drop significantly and the strong east to north easterly winds are going to make conditions feel very cold indeed. Conditions will improve a little bit tomorrow night, at least the gale forces winds will ease slightly, but it is still going to remain very cold with the threat of black ice on te roads.
