Most British visitors will be heading to hotels in Palmanova and Magalluf and local traders are hoping for a seasonal windfall from tourists overspilling with seasonal cheer.

Flights and hotels that are opening for the festive holiday are reporting brisk trade and some holidaymakers hoping for last minute seasonal bargains will be disappointed.
