Soller.— Soller council’s plea to their citizens to avoid putting their rubbish in the street bins on Tuesdays and Saturdays has fallen on deaf years. During the Winter months there are no collections on Wednesdays and Saturdays and as a result of a poor awareness campaign by the authorities and citizen’s neglect, on Thursday the town is an eyesore, with communal street bins not only full with rubbish but over flowing with waste. The council’s campaign to inform its citizens was resumed to posting leaflets on the bins but failed to mention the new collection days, mentioning only the time of collections. Locals on the other hand still seem to care little for recycling, throwing all sorts of items in the bins without any type of concern.
