Palma.—Guido Westerweller, the former German Foreign Minister, was yesterday presented with the Majorcan Tourist Board’s Gold Medal.
The former Foreign Minister was unable to attend the annual award ceremony last month in Palma, but yesterday at the Hotel Son Vida, he was presented with the award by the President of the Tourist Board, Eduardo Gamero, and the President of the Balearics, Jose Ramon Bauza, in recognition of the work he has carried out over the years “to defend and protect the image of Majorca” and for having always publicly spoken of his love for the island which he has described as “one of the most beautiful in the world.”
