Over half of Majorcan retailers have reported financial losses following the end of the first official month of the Winter sales. According to a report revealed yesterday by small businesses association Pimeco, 80 percent of shop owners confirmed that the month was poor for business compared with the same period last year. Some 30 percent said they maintained sales while 52 percent said sales slumped. Almost half of businesses (47%) in Palma revealed a financial loss, while outside the capital the situation was even worse with 57 percent of shop owners unable to break even
