Balearic MPs yesterday voted unanimously in favour of a motion that the Balearic governments proceeds with legal action to stop oil prospecting in local waters.

Palma.—During yesterday’s parliamentary session, MPs on both sides of the house voted in favour of the motion tabled by the opposition  PSIB Balearic Socialist Party to legally challenge  Madrid over the permission granted by a Royal Decree to the Scottish energy company Cairn Energy by the previous Socialist government ti prospect for oil in Balearic waters.
