Almost 12,000 citizens in the Balearics who are out of a job have never been employed before, a report revealed yesterday.

Palma.—The news should be analysed with care by Balearic authorities since that number amounts to nine percent of the total people unemployed in the region. To make matters worse, the figures have quintupled since 2007, when “only” 2,340 of those out of a job had no work experience.
The probability of a citizen in that situation finding  a job is now of 6.1 percent, below the national average of 6.6 percent.
On a positive note those who did find their first job last year (767), were employed in jobs related with their training, which means the Balearics heads  the list  of matching job offers  with employee’s educational background.
