Council crackdown on street performers

Street artists are from now prohibited from performing in some tourist areas of the centre of Palma, the city council informed yesterday.

Palma.—New civic  laws are due to be made official soon but the authorities want the police to start acting now and slowly introduce the new measures. Street artists caught breaching the new laws will be warned  but  if  they  are caught  again then their equipment could be confiscated.
The new laws apply to the  surrounding area of s’Horta del Rei, Antoni Maura, in front of the Cathedral and Plaza Cort.
They can on the other hand, perform on the stairway leading to d’Alt Murada-Ses Voltes  and the same  between  s’Hort del Rei and  Palau Reial, Jaume II, Plaza Santa Eulalia, calle Colon, Plaza Porta Pintada and Plaza España.
