Palma.—Camp de Mar beach was yesterday in turmoil, with tourists, residents and businesses protesting over how late the local authorities have left it before initiating the cleaning of the beach.
With the start of the holiday season just around the corner and Easter already upon us, smelly sea weed was yesterday occupying almost half of the beach, which has upset visitors and locals who could barely find a place to put their towels and beach gear down.
The sound and presence of some bulldozers which kept going up and down the beach collecting the sea weed and pushing it to one side was not well received either.
Last minute beach cleaning irritates locals and visitors
