Editorial: Real misery

MY heart goes out to supporters of Real Mallorca Football Club. Not only is their beloved club mid table in the Second Division with promotion now a distant dream but the boardroom battles continue. I find it amazing that the various directors of Real Mallorca can´t settle their differences for the benefit of the club. All those great phrases like playing for the team or working for the common good of the club seem to have been forgotten by the Board of directors of Real Mallorca who continue to battle it out amongst each other as the club´s promotion campaign takes a dive. Thankfully Mallorca have a loyal fan base but another season in the second division could mean that some start deserting the Son Moix. This is a crucial time for the  club. Real Mallorca needs a saviour who has long pockets, is a great diplomat and with business knowledge of Majorca. I have always found it rather amazing that Real Mallorca football club has not been snapped up by a foreign millionaire. Why Chelsea, PSG, Monca and Manchester City and not Mallorca? Surely the club is an attractive proposition afterall it is based on one of the most sought after holiday spots in the whole world.  And also let us not forget the tourists. If only Real Mallorca would wake-up and cultivate its attraction for visiting tourists. So let us hope for a minor miracle. Let us hope that Mallorca can reach the promotion play-offs and the board just calm down and think of the club.
