Palma.—The Guardia Civil have recovered many items which they believed were stolen by an eight-strong gang accused of carrying out at least thirty robberies in outlying areas of the island.
The Guardia Civil said the robberies were all committed in homes and offices in Santa Maria, Bunyola, Esporles, Puigpunyent, Consell, Alaro, Mancor de la Vall and Lloseta. The gang is believed to have used the train to get to the interior parts of the island. “Those who have been arrested are relatively young and two are minors,” said a Guardia Civil spokesperson yesterday. The items which have been recovered will be placed on display at the Guardia Civil barracks in Pont D´Inca.
