Palma.—The government, the unions and opposition parties were at logger heads yesterday after the official unemployment figures were released showing that the Balearics led the way in job creation last month.
The monthly reports comes just days after the Active PopulationSurvey, which takes into account those still registered as officially out of work and those who have signed off, pointed to 150,000 people being out of work in the Balearics.
However, according to Minister for Employment and Social Security yesterday, Balearic job centres have reported that the number of people registered with them fell by 9,929 last month which represents an 11 percent decrease in comparison to previous month and leaves the total number of people officially out of work in the region standing at 75,789.
