Palma.—The chance of industrial action this summer by the Majorcan hostelry sector is looking increasing unlikely.
Yesterday union representatives met the hotel sector for yet another round of talks over working conditions and the new contracts and it appears that the hoteliers have given some ground with sources claiming that a deal could be reached before the weekend.
Tension between the two parties has been high since negotiations began last month and unions were threatening a summer if industrial action if a satisfactory deal was not reached.
But yesterday, hoteliers apparently agreed to a five day week during the summer season, laying the ground for a deal to be reached.
