Palma.—A tree saved a 20-year-old British tourist from death or serious injury in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The holiday makers fell from a height of 40 metres from a hotel balcony in Magalluf at 2.40am only to have his fall broken by the tree some 15 metres below.
A security guard heard his screams and called the emergency services who had to rescue the young man from the tree who had wrapped himself around it.
Paramedics attended him at the scene and then rushed him to Son Espases Hospital.
