Palma.—Civil Obedience Law or not, either way it is being flaunted along the Playa de Palma.
Yesterday, the opposition Balearic Socialist Party slammed the dreadful state of the beach in the resort and called on the city council to set up special teams to keep the beach clean. Considering the beach was awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness this year, the Socialists said yesterday that allowing the beach to be littered with glass bottles and other waste from all night parties, is not compatible and only going to lead to the beach losing its flag next year. “We don’t want swimmers or sun bathers cutting themselves on broken glass and the council should be concerned about this hence why we have tabled it for debate at the next meeting,” Socialist spokesperson Begoña Sanchez said yesterday.
